Matsuri Shimegiwa (示際 祭, Shimegiwa Matsuri), also known as Campfires(Eruption) (噴火災(キャンプファイヤーズ) , Funka Wazawai(Kyanpufaiyāzu) ) is the assistant of professor Motsure Kitsuregawa, and later Hotsure Kitsuregawa, as well as an opponent of Jun Aikawa.

Personality

Matsuri is a moody and aggressive boy with a sharp glare. He generally speaks in an unrefined way, although he does show respect to Motsure and, by extension, Hotsure, having an appreciation for the man and his work, which Aikawa finds strange.

Appearance

Matsuri has spiky silver hair and sharp sanpaku eyes, and has an urban fashion sense described by Aikawa as being "hard to pull off well".

Abilities

Fire Arm: As a result of Motsure's experiments on him, Matsuri has the ability to freely turn his arm into fire and back as he wishes.

Fighter: Being able to decently hold his own against Jun Aikawa, even pose a bit of a threat to her, Matsuri is quite a great fighter.

Etymology

• The name Matsuri means "festival, enshrining" (祭).
• Matsuri's surname Shimegiwa means "showcase, occasion, to indicate" (示際).
